Sunday 9 November

Very well attended service of Remembrance at Lewis War Memorial. Most impressive, helped by good sunny weather - a rainbow hung over Tong.

It is 25 years ago since the Berlin Wall came down, something that the Germans are celebrating.

I'm sorry.

November 9th, 1989, heralded the end of communist dictatorship in East Germany.

November 9th, 1938, was a black day in German history, being Reichskristallnacht, a mass pogrom across Germany against Jews and their property.
