View across the Outer Harbour of Stornoway

Tuesday 18 May - PM

A stunning day today, which had the mercury soaring to 18C / 64F, something that is our average in summer. As I type this, it is still not fully dark (10.45pm). There were two cruiseliners in, and the passengers of the Spirit of Adventure were apparently (bag)piped into town. Nice welcome. I went round the Inner Harbour between 5 and 6pm to have a wee look.

A friend of mine here in Lewis, who sits on committees, reported  the subjects under discussion this evening.
1. golliwogs
2. state of crofting
3. peeing on socks
4. embalming
5. cost of curing sheepskins

In my opinion, there isn't that much wrong in the world if that is all that concerns the citizens of this island.

Oh to find that state of innocence again!
There is certainly nothing wrong in your island at all Guido. Lang may it stay like that too.
Budge over...I might just come up and live there. lol

p.s. We had an absolute corker of a day here in the lakes too. Hubby was walking down the hill for a paper this morning with an old neighbour who threw her arms out and breaking into song, singing about "what a beautiful day it was". He said he didn't know where to look. hahaha
How's that for enjoyment of the sunshine...eh?
    Magic! Just Magic!

  2. If I lived on your island I would certainly be concerned over the cost of curing sheepskins, because I would not raise golliwogs on my croft, pee on my socks, or attempt to fix any animal (or human) at the moment of their death.

In my opinion there is a great deal wrong with the world and most of it can be found in the isolation of the human spirit.
