Winds of 103 mph, curtains of seaspray flying in. Metal penals blown off a gate, flown away to heaven knows where. Lethal projectiles in this weather. Bin fell over full of bottles, cannot go outside to investigate, too dangerous. Streetlights failing here and there, can't see the Coastguard Station lights (200 yards away) at times through spray.
I'm praying for your safety and that of others effected by the storm. 'On Ya'-ma
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, this sounds very scarey. When you wrote that the winds were expected to be 80 or 90 miles an hour I thought, that is going to be some storm. It will be a wonder if no one is hurt. I take it you don't often get that kind of wind. Will be waiting to hear if you are all right. I expect you decided to bank the computer for the night. Gerry
ReplyDeleteGuido, I will keeping you in my Prayers as well as the rest of your island. My heart goes out to you going through a storm of this proportion. Please be cautious and stay indoors, you can see what happened when it is light...and safer. Take care.
ReplyDeleteSaying prayers that all will be safe. How scary....Linda in WA
ReplyDeleteStay safe, Guido! That sounds very dangerous and scary.
ReplyDeleteDo hope by the time you get up that things have quitened down a bit. We have been lucky again and missed the worst of the gale. It blew up here around 6 last night Mary had to hang on to the fence on her way home...then the rain started and it blew a real gale...however by 9pm all had blown itself away and thankfully we have had a quiet night.
ReplyDeleteTake care love Sybil xx
Sorry I haven't been by in ages. I just haven't felt much at home here on BLogger. I'm still holding a grudge against AOL JLand. LOL Hope things have calmed for you. Our weather has been cool but mild. There's that I guess.
ReplyDeleteHave a good rest of your weekend.
Barb
