Friday 16 January

Good morning from a bright but windy Stornoway. Windy? Wait until midnight tomorrow night and you'll see us with winds of 50 mph and more. At the moment, it's doing 30 mph, so Aeolus is nicely sticking to the speedlimit.

Zimbabwe continues to be the number 1 disaster country in the world. The central bank has issued a banknote for 100,000,000,000,000 Z$, worth about 30 US$ at this moment. Inflation is running at 231,000,000%. Apart from the economy, health care is also in a state of collapse. Robert Mugabe was once a hero for his country. He has managed to wreck it.

  1. Thankfully our wind speed is only at 9 right now. With our windchill here today it is minus 30 degrees outside. I will hurry back and forth today for sure. Zimbabwe is in my prayers. Sad to think one man could do that.

  2. Batten down the hatches tomorrow night Guido. It sounds as though you are going to have a real hoolie up in the west of Scotland.

As for Robert Mugabe...its an awful thing to say but I just wish someone would...no I can't say it! But I can think it can't I?
    He is an evil despot!
    So are his cohorts.

  3. We've had some pretty decent wind where we live recently. It seems we're right in the middle of wind coming down from two sides, so we always have something blown out into the middle of the yard.
Did I tell you about our Christmas tree last year? We had taken it to the back yard to wait for tree pick up. That night we got a bunch of wind, and the tree disappeared. We never found it although we did go looking for it. Can you imagine somebody going out to their own backyard and finding a Christmas tree there? LOL
