Monday 7 September

Overcast today, and rain approaching from the Atlantic. This will be followed by our first autumnal gale tomorrow, which could see winds up to 45 mph. It's September, and we're not allowed to forget that.

Hurricanes, I hear you ask? Well, it'll be the peak of the season very soon, but the Atlantic isn't up to much. The Pacific sees a regular procession of tropical cyclones, some off the coast of Mexico, some in the Western Pacific off Asia. Nothing remarkable. Yet.

On Friday, it will be 8 years ago since the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, that have gone down in history as 9/11. I'll be posting my tribute to Norberto Hernandez, as part of project 2996. It will be the only posting for the day, and I'll attempt to post at 1.46pm (UK time), which was the time the first plane flew into the WTC in New York on 11 September 2001.

  1. 45mph gales. Sounds BRRRRR. I thank you for remembering us on 9/11 and doing your tribute. It means a lot that others around the world still hold the US in their regard. I truly admire you for that.
Barb in Texas where we're feeling the first hints of fall (80s instead of 90s for highs.LOL)

  2. The strangest thing just happened. After I left my comment, I hit the red X in the corner and you page just kept popping up over and over and over. At one time there were 19 Atlantic Lines on my computer & I couldm't get it to stop! I couldn't get it to stop. My computer wouldn't end task or restart. I did get it to shut down. I guess something just glitched because I opened and shut your page a couple times. LOL Crazy computers.
